11/2/2009 - 11/30/2009

Mixed Signal Analog Design Engineering Manager for the new product development of PICmicro MCU within the SMTD division of Microchip. The primary focus will be on circuit design, definition, and management for the new product development, with involvement in cross functional teams for validation, qualification, characterization, and production release.

Analog circuit design for new product development including involvement in the product and circuit architectural specification, circuit design, analog simulation, oversight of layout, design review and layout review. The position will also require the ability to guide and/or perform Si validation of generated circuitry including both testchips and in-product data collection and evaluation.

The position’s primary function and time allotment is for extremely low-power low-cost analog circuit development and management of a team of engineers dedicated to this task. The successful candidate will have highly developed ability to analyze circuit concepts academically, guide the architectural specifications of new circuits, implement them practically and correctly, possess a solid understanding of manufacturing processing and modeling, and have the ability to interact technically with the other analog engineers for peer collaboration and review.

Another component of this job function is the ability to aid in the analysis of existing analog circuit yield and/or customer issues, which are driven from other engineering groups within the department or company.

The manager’s role will be one of managing and leading personnel from technical strength, staying active in hands on circuit design and analysis, and ability to work with the related engineering departments to specify, guide, and actively advance the analog capability in our mixed signal microcontrollers.

Job Requirements:

Electrical Engineering BS degree required (MS preferred). Minimum of 8 years experience developing related analog circuitry. Ability to work on own and also collaboratively within a team or one-one-one with others. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to participate heavily in setting the analog circuit direction. Experience with Flash products, bandgaps, OTAs, comparators, ADCs (SAR and/or delta-sigma), LDO voltage regulators, filters, low-current biasing, charge pumps, constant current generators, xtal and Si oscillators and PLLs are important. Solid understanding of unix, Cadence tools, analog simulators and modeling needed. Strong academic ability to evaluate analog circuitry and ability to make correct decisions with the subset of data and information on-hand is required.

Must be flexible with hours to accommodate communication with overseas team members.
