BlueCore TouchLITE is a Bluetooth remote control development kit / reference design for automotive use based on CSR’s BlueCore technology. It allows manufacturers to include a Bluetooth remote control for navigation systems, in-car multimedia devices and MP3 players with little additional cost or development time. Unlike traditional infrared remotes, Bluetooth does not require line of sight, supports multiple button presses, increases range up to 30 meters, and easily supports several target devices. Most importantly, BlueCore TouchLITE supports Bluetooth v2.1, allowing two single batteries to last more than 500 days in a typical usage scenario.

BlueCore TouchLITE benefits from Bluetooth v2.1 features such as sniff-subrating, which provides products with the lowest power consumption and latency when connected. In Sniff mode (or Stand-by), the TouchLITE remote control consumes only 0.1 mA of current.

The BlueCore TouchLITE development kit comes complete with an easy-to-use, fully documented hardware reference design, Bluetooth software stack, Bluetooth profile suite, and application software.

The sample application running on CSR’s BlueLab development environment allows users to customize the software features and/or user interface to meet their own specific product requirements using the Bluetooth v2.1 BlueCore TouchLITE software as a base. BlueLab is a fully integrated development environment for engineers writing software to run on CSR chips and includes all necessary libraries and production firmware for rapid product development and support for new Bluetooth features.
