  • Hello Steve.Picotest. (Thanks for the interesting article.) If I understand your Figure 1 correctly, those 25, 100, 150, and 200 MHz spectral components shouldn't exist. I was wondering what DDS "mechanism", what shortcoming of the DDS signal generator, causes them to exist. Are there any other readers puzzled by those unexpected spectral components?

  • Did that racist "white guys from the suburbs" wisecrack from Prof. Vaz bother any readers here? He said, "That's why engineering teams need more women, people of color, and people from lower-income backgrounds." What silly feel-good PC nonsense. Hiring people based on gender, skin pigmentation, or family income is OK for universities and Government agencies because their primary goal is merely expanding the size of their organizations. But that hiring philosophy doesn't work in the real world of private industry where success and failure are important. Perhaps someone could inform the good professor that people should be hired based on their knowledge and skills, even if that leads to hiring some white guys from the suburbs.

  • Hi. I have no idea what ACSN means, but I wonder if the ACSN equation should be 20 times the log rather than ten times the log. I say that because it appears the SNR value is a ratio of amplitude values rather than a ratio of power values. [-Rick-]
