- If you’re an engineer, thank your mom
- Dad was the son of an imigrant and he went to work after high school. He had an intrest in Mechanical and electrical and signed up for an electrician helper course. Worked his way to electrician, head electricial forman, and then head electricial-mechanical forman for the company. As a kid I had the biggest chem set Gilbert made in 1956. Lost of Army surplus rack mounted electronic gear from neghbors who were hams and after they removed the things they wanted they gave the rest to the "kid who liked to play with that kind of stuff". My brother was a year and a half younger and we worked together. Our basement looked like the lab in some of the Si-Fi movies of the 50's. My Mom and Dad encourged us but our grandma swore we would blow the house up before we were 16. I am an EE one brother is a ME and another is an EE. One sister married an EE. To this day I still hate to throw something away if I can take it apart and fix it.
