As EDN’s executive editor, I have a tremendous respect for engineers, makers, and electronics hobbyists. In the more than 10 years I’ve been with EDN (in some role or another), I’ve enjoyed the opportunities I’ve had to learn from and converse with interesting, intelligent, and outright funny engineers about the innovations that make the world go round. As an award-winning journalist, I manage several blogs and sections of EDN.com and EDN’s e-newsletters including its daily newsletter, EDN Today, and EDN Fun Friday. I also head EDN’s social media and community efforts. Find me on Facebook and Twitter at: deffree.

Thank you for sharing your story and our deepest sympathy on your loss.

  • 11 reasons to fall in love with an engineer
  • @MaleEngineer It’s a generalization, a silly one at that, that engineers love bacon. Although truth be told, I don’t think I’ve ever met an engineer who I’ve had the pleasure of befriending who hasn’t loved bacon. One even came to a meeting with a box of it last summer. In terms of being a threat, all I can say is I hope my kid passes on relationships with people who are not smart, who do not think logically (not logistically as my original typo stated), and who do not devote themselves the way I see engineers do. Everything in here is meant to be fun and silly, though, so I hope it gave you a laugh. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
