Resistive signal splitters

Sometimes, we need a signal splitter that uses no transformers or signal splitting hybrids. In other words, we need something cheap!


In such a case we can use resistive splitters. Such devices are comprised entirely of resistors whose design values and resultant signal attenuations are examined below: 



These resistive splitters are relatively lossy compared to the magnetics-based designs that are built with transformers and/or hybrids, but resistive splitters are the lowest cost things you can make.
