EMI receiver enables testing to 26.5 GHz

-August 10, 2013

Rohde & Schwarz has expanded its ESR family of EMI test receivers with a model that covers a frequency range from 10 Hz to 26.5 GHz for performing conducted or radiated certification measurements in line with commercial standards, such as EN, CISPR, and FCC, as well as military standards. According to the manufacturer, the broadband architecture of the ESR26 enables the instrument to perform standard-compliant measurements up to 6000 times faster than other testers, completing EMI measurements in just seconds.

The ESR26 offers a variety of diagnostic tools. Persistence mode allows users to clearly differentiate between pulse and continuous disturbances. It displays the probability of amplitudes occurring at specific frequencies using different colors, making it possible to detect disturbances that are hidden by broadband signals. The receiver’s frequency mask trigger responds to specific events within a disturbance spectrum. If the mask is violated, a trigger is activated, the measurement is stopped, and the disturbance can be analyzed.

In addition to a compact, lightweight design, a number of options make the ESR26 suitable for field use. These include a DC power supply with rechargeable battery pack, a solid-state drive, and a ruggedized housing.
