Astronics upgrades tactical radio tester

-March 19, 2017

EVM measurement and four additional functions enhance the Astronics’ CTS-6000 test set for field testing of military tactical radios. This portable instrument tests both analog and digital functions of the most widely deployed tactical radios, including the Harris AN/PRC-117G and AN/PRC-152A.

The tablet-sized CTS-6000 offers software-driven test instruments to test tactical handsets, amplifiers, antennas, and any other component of a radio system. These instruments include an RF signal generator, RF receiver, RF power meter, RF analyzers (spectrum, VWSR, cable distance-to-fault), AF signal generator, audio meters, oscilloscope, reference oscillator, and tracking generator.

This upgrade of the CTS-6000 adds EVM (error vector magnitude) measurement, wideband streaming of transmit and receive channels, a real-time RF burst trigger, power analyzer, nonvolatile memory reader, and an avionics data loader. Other military-specific functions now available for the CTS-6000 include support for SINCGARS (single-channel ground and airborne radio system), SRW (soldier radio waveform), WNW (wideband networking waveform), HAVEQUICK (American frequency hopping system), and SOCNET (special operations community network).

The CTS-6000 communications tester for field and at-platform testing reduces test time, maintenance and calibration costs, and the number of no-fault-found test results. To request a price quote on the radio test set, fill out the form on the product page.
