Medical supplies work at high altitude

OBR04 series AC/DC power supplies from Powerbox deliver reliable power to healthcare facilities and medical equipment located at altitudes of up to 5000 meters. The supplies comply with the EMI coexistence standard IEC 60601-1-2: 2014 (4th edition) and are designed to ensure patient and operator safety.

Furnishing output power of 600 W to 650 W, the OBR04 series offers single outputs with a choice of 12 different DC output voltages: 12 V, 15 V, 18 V, 24 V, 28 V, 30 V, 32 V, 34 V, 36 V, 48 V, 57 V, and 58 V. These output voltages cover a wide range of applications, from 12 VDC intermediate bus voltages to point-of-loads up to 58 VDC to power the latest power amplifiers. Depending on the output voltage, maximum output power starts at 600 W and rises to 650 W with a peak power level of up to 720 W.

An auxiliary 12 V output is provided for an additional fan, as well as a standby 5 V supply at 200 mA. Typical operating efficiency of the supplies is 90%. Input voltage spans 90 VAC to 264 VAC and includes active power-factor correction, typically 0.98.

The switch-mode supplies meet conducted and radiated EN55011 Class B standards without any additional components. Input-to-output isolation is 4000 VAC (2x MOPP), input-to-ground isolation is 1500 VAC (1x MOPP), and output-to-ground isolation is 1500 VAC.

Units are housed in an aluminum U-shape chassis with dimensions of 165.8×101.6×62.5 mm or in an enclosed box with a built-in fan. The OBR04 supplies achieve an MTBF of 190,000 hours at full load and 25°C per MIL-HDBK-217F requirements.

In OEM quantities, the OBR04 power supplies cost $195 each.
